An estimated 150 million mammoths are buried in the frozen Siberian tundra. Because of the preservation of their skeletons, stomach contents, muscle tissue, and blood, as well as cave painting depictions by our human ancestors - scientists know more about the wooly mammoth than any other prehistoric animal. Thought to have gone extinct 12,000 years ago, new findings show that some small mammoths of Wrangel Island survived until 1650 BCE. We pay homage to this special creature with this ice age inspired charm.
